Last year THE SALESMAN was part of the Competition CineMasters at FILFMEST MÜNCHEN and was awarded with the ARRI/Osram Award.

The Oscar winner in the category "Best Picture" MOONLIGHT is also the work of a beloved FILMFEST MÜNCHEN guest: Producer Adele Romanski (Interview). (2013) and MORRIS FROM AMERICA (2016).

TONI ERDMANN – the German contribution to this year's Academy Awards – did not win an Oscar but still had a successful weekend: It won the award for "Best International Film" at the Independent Spirit Awards on saturday.
