I am Thy Labyrinth!
Filmfest 2011

"I AM THY LABYRINTH" Wolfgang Rihm writes an opera inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's late Hymns to Dionysos, the wild god of the Greeks. He lets myths of antiquity clash with Nietzsche's ecstatic writings. The film documents the creative process of the opera until its world premiere at the Salzburg Festspiele and follows Nietzsche's tracks to the magical mountain world of Engadin, where the poet-philosopher lived.
