Awards & Winners

Every year at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN, there are awards galore. These include not only the awards in the CineVision, CineCoPro, and CineMasters competitions, but also awards for outstanding individuals from the world of film, up-and-coming talent, and German productions. Thus, not only are established filmmakers honored for their work; fresh talent is also supported. Many of the films honored at the film festival have since received international recognition.

BERND BURGEMEISTER TV PRODUCTION AWARD

The producers of the best entry in the New German TV Movies section can look forward to receiving this award, sponsored by the Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduzenten. As of 2022 a second award for the best New German TV Series is handed out as well.

Audience Award

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN audiences vote for their favorite film from the festival. The winner receives this award sponsored by BR and the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Young Jury Award

Five young adults from Munich will be given the opportunity to award a prize to one of the films in the program that tells the story of young people's experiences in an outstanding way.

CineKindl Award

The prize for the best film at the KINDERFILMFEST MÜNCHEN is going to be awarded from 2022 onwards.

CineKindl Audience Award

The recipient of this award is selected by the young audiences of the program of CineKindl.

FIPRESCI Prize

The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) presents this award to the best film in the New German Cinema section.
