The exceptional director Bong Joon Ho comes to Munich for a retrospective. For the first time, Filmfest visitors can lose themselves in virtual reality at "Virtual Worlds". The band Die Fantastischen Vier celebrate their 30th birthday with a documentary. And we welcome great Afroamerican filmmakers who give us an insight into the exciting world of Black Cinema at Filmmakers Live! 

Today, the Margot Hielscher Award is presented for the first time in memory of the great multi-talent. The winner is the French director and actor Louis Garrel. In addition, the "Virtual Worlds" invite to the Professionial Day and many premieres are celebrated. The evening is musical - with a concert by the Filmfoniker and a band in the Pixellounge. 

At the FFF reception, you see a lot of familiar faces. In the "Virtual Worlds" section, prizes for the best VR stories are awarded for the first time. At the world premiere of CRESCENDO #MAKEMUSICNOTWAR a big party for the huge team takes place. Also, there is a reunion with the winners of last year's FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH.

As every year, on the second friday of the festival, the Förderpreis is awarded at the HFF, followed by a celebration of young German cinema. But this year the day already starts with a big award ceremony: The CineCoPro Award, endowed with 100,000 euros, goes to Michael Weber and Viola Fügen.

Who turned the clock? Is FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 2019 over again? To celebrate properly, the big prizes will be awarded at a gala. Congratulations to all the winners! The Filmfest team would like to thank everyone who made the festival so special. See you soon!
