DALIDA
She was an unconventional woman in conventional times: Singer-actress Dalida, née Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti, was born 1933 in Cairo, debuting as a singer at the Olympia in Paris in 1956. Her career covered three decades until her early death 1987. Everything about her life was glamourous: Her songs, her affairs, her tragic setbacks. She lost people she loved. She went to India in search of enlightenment and later surfed the Disco wave in the '70s. There's been a Dalida Place in the 18th Arrondissement since 1997 – now Liza Azuelos has devoted a filmic monument to her, too.
PLEASE NOTE: The screening on June 28 will be in the original with English subtitles. The screening on June 29 will be in the original with German subtitles.
