Logline

An energy-filled mother-son road movie with notable performances by Jonas Dassler and Anke Engelke.

When Marlene’s daredevil son Jason suffers a serious accident, it’s a turning point in her life. The severity of Jason’s injuries means that only a special clinic in Switzerland can help. Marlene decides to drive him all the way there from Berlin. While she has a clear route in mind, Jason does everything he can to convince his mother that life is mostly about detours. Mother and son struggle for closeness and distance, frustrating their respective expectations and inevitably bringing up old conflicts. Marlene finds it difficult to contain her fear for Jason, while he seems to fear nothing. The contrast could not be greater, and with each passing kilometer, an unresolved issue takes up more and more of the space between them.
