WHO ARE WE AND WHO DO WE WANT TO BE? TRACES OF EAST GERMANY IN PRESENT-DAY GERMANY.
Does the rift between East and West Germany extend into the present? Two films celebrating their world premieres at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN look at the recent German-German past: THE GIRL WITH THE GOLDEN HANDS by director Katharina Maria Schubert is set after the fall of the Berlin Wall, but both the country and the individual relationship between a mother (Corinna Harfouch) and her daughter are still divided. In THE LAST EXECUTION by director Franziska Stünkel, an up-and-comer struggles with the unscrupulous methods of the Stasi. The two directors Franziska Stünkel and Katharina Marie Schubert, as well as the leading actress in the latter's film, Corinna Harfouch, are guests and talk about East and West with Christoph Gröner, artistic director of FILMFEST MÜNCHEN.
Guests: Katharina Marie Schubert, Franziska Stünkel, Corinna Harfouch
