This blend of elliptical thriller and emotional drama explores the tense class relations in the Dominican Republic.
Sara, the daughter of a wealthy family from Santo Domingo, is very close to her nanny, Yasira. When Sara’s family moves to the coastal town of Las Terrenas, Yasira comes along, returning to the place she’d left to pursue her job in the household. Here Yasira reconnects with her own daughter, who forgives her for her temporary absence and in turn becomes friends with Sara. However, the illusion of a friendship transcending class is abruptly shattered when a fatal accident occurs during a night of partying.
