A sensitive, life-affirming drama about a meeting of young and old, with a fantastic performance by Charlotte Rampling.

The death of his mother plunges a 17-year-old New Zealander named Sam into an existential crisis. When his churlish, alcoholic grandmother arrives from England on her first visit, Sam awakens from his lethargy. An extraordinary relationship develops between them that will change both of their lives forever.
