Director Trevor Anderson’s sensitive and humorous coming-of-age film offers a new perspective on suburban life in 1980s North America.
A Canadian backwater in 1987. As the new kid at the local high school, Robin, the non-binary protagonist of this comedy-drama, must master the balancing act of conforming while being oneself. Amid the turbulent ups and downs of adolescent emotions, an unexpected alliance soon forms between Robin and Carter, a rowdy schoolmate, which causes Robin to face unexpected problems and contradictions.

Trevor Anderson
Trevor Anderson is a writer, director, actor, and former video store clerk whose short films have been presented at various international festivals. His work has been screened three times at Sundance and twice at the Berlinale, where his musical THE MAN THAT GOT AWAY (2012) received the DAAD Short Film Award. His western THE LITTLE DEPUTY (2015) and his science fiction horror film DOCKING (2019) both premiered at Sundance and were placed among the Canadian Top Ten at the Toronto International Film Festival. BEFORE I CHANGE MY MIND is his first feature film.
