Dionne Edwards puts her brilliant cast in a dress in an affectionate and musical tug at their narrow view of things like queerness and black masculinity.
Released from prison, Travis returns to his girlfriend, Candice, and their teenage daughter, Kenisha. To make up to Candice, he buys her a red dress, the perfect outfit for her audition for a musical. The family dynamic gets off-kilter, however, when Candice and Kenisha see Travis trying on the dress himself. What unspoken truths and desires do the three of them have?
