Logline

Can love really conquer all?

Jonas is an intelligent and angry teenager. He suffers from a form of muscular dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. When a romance with his beautiful classmate Emily begins to blossom, Jonas neglects his treatment and hides from his mother the fact that his condition is flaring up. The budding relationship proves very challenging to all concerned, especially when an accident complicates things even further.

Franziska Buch

Franziska Buch studied philosophy and German literature at the University of Stuttgart and the Sapienza in Rome. In 1986 she enrolled at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). Her first film, DIE ORDNUNG DER DINGE, earned the German Short Film Award in Berlin in 1987. The following year, she directed the 45-minute film TOD EINES IDIOTEN. Her graduation film, a story for children called IN SEARCH OF PARADISE, premiered at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 1992. Since then, Buch has written screenplays for several German crime series, including O.K. (1993/1994, Bavaria Film) and FAUST (1994/1995, ZDF). Her other films include EMIL UND DIE DETEKTIVE (2001), YOKO (2011), EINE WIE DIESE (2015) and the TATORT episodes DAS VERSCHWUNDENE KIND (2019) and NATIONAL FEMININ (2020). Buch co-chairs the screenwriting department at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg.
