Classic coming of age meets disturbing fantasy: the beastly difficult road to adulthood, honored at Cannes.
In 12-year-old Zaffan's life, everything is predetermined and plays out according to strict rules. Whether it's her parents, her teachers, or the Islamic society in which she lives, someone is always telling her what to do and who to be. One day, she makes a terrifying discovery: she's bleeding. And this menstruation is not the only change in her body. As she discovers the beast within, she becomes more and more of an outcast. A gem of young Malaysian film!
