One Future Prize 2016
THE UNHEARD WOMAN (Germany 2016; directed by Hans Steinbichler)
The Jury: "The true story of farmer’s wife Hanni, movingly and excellently acted by Rosalie Thomass, is a powerful plea for taking your fate in your own hans. Left alone by society and her family, Hanni is the only one who believes in her sick little daughter, and single-handedly takes up the battle against pompous authorities. Not taken seriously and denigrated, she refuses to lose faith, and even risks her own future to save her daughter. This year’s One Future Prize goes to THE UNHEARD WOMAN, a film which shows in an understandable and believable way how important it is to listen to those weaker than you. "
