We are also taking this anniversary as an opportunity to look at the current situation of FILMFEST MÜNCHEN. To this end, we talked to our programmers and asked them how their work has changed in recent years, what is currently happening in the film world, and what the audience can look forward to in the near future.

SNIFFING OUT THE TRUFFLES

TV movies have been screened at the Filmfest since 1994, when Eberhard Hauff was still director of the festival. Since then, the ways in which television content is produced have been revolutionized, leading to changes in the content itself, as Ulrike Frick, who now curates this section, explains.

Going their own way

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN has repeatedly turned its attention to Black cinema over the years. Curator Julia Weigl has continued this tradition for the current anniversary edition by collaborating with Museum Brandhorst to create a spotlight on works by Black artists.
