On April 20 at 9:30 a.m., an exclusive screening for school classes of LOVE STEAKS will take place at the LUISE Cultural Center. After the screening, director Jakob Lass will be present to answer students' questions about his film, which exactly ten years ago was the only film at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN to win the New German Cinema Award in all four categories (direction, production, screenplay and acting). The prize is one of Germany's most prestigious and highly endowed awards for up-and-coming filmmakers and helped Jakob Lass achieve his breakthrough as a director.

What is special about Jakob Lass' work is his great sense of improvisation. During the shooting of his extremely funny film LOVE STEAKS, every member of the team, including the actors and the cameraman, was allowed to contribute their own ideas and suggestions. The idea was not to film an already finished script. The goal was to allow a creative flow without knowing what the final result would look like. And the result is a very unusual, but also extremely realistic film, which, in combination with an in-depth discussion with the director, offers a unique insight into the making of a feature film. In order to encourage young people's enthusiasm for cinema, this event is offered exclusively to school classes - after all, today's young people are tomorrow's moviegoers.

In addition, a film workshop led by Lass will take place in the same week in cooperation with the HFF Munich, the Munich Volkstheater and the LUISE cultural center, in which young people will learn the art of improvisation in front of and behind the camera together with directing students.
