Logline
SHORTS FOR KIDS - A set of short films about loss, commitment, and close friendship with animals.
Nine-year-old Xiaohui lives with his grandfather in southwestern China, as his parents are employed in a distant place. When his grandfather has to sell a calf, the boy tries to hide the cow and her child in the mountains.

Xinying Lao
Xinying Lao was born in Guangxi, China in 1997 and is now a third-year film student at New York University. She is a director, writer, and film editor. XIAOHUI AND HIS COWS was her second-year film at NYU.
