Who and what the audience wants to see, what they invest their lives and ticket money in, which story and star they fall in love with means everything to filmmakers. A film that earns the Audience Award has an excellent chance of being successful at the box office later on. That’s why Bayerischer Rundfunk and the Süddeutsche Zeitung are pleased to offer the Bayern 2 and SZ Audience Award at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN! And because the winners are not the only ones who should benefit from this award, these two major Bavarian media partners will also reward the audience. All those who vote for their favorite film will be entered into a drawing for a year-long pass to movie theaters in Bavaria.

Seeing and being seen: is there any better definition of a film festival? Especially of one that is held in Munich, this city that is so beautiful and so inquisitive? The SZ doesn’t think so. That’s why our newspaper is so happy to be part of this festival at the home of the Süddeutsche Zeitung and in collaboration with our colleagues from Bayern 2, who, like us, want to inform, entertain, and inspire people.
