- The Teen Event allows young fans to meet the stars up close
Young people from 14 to 24 have a huge appetite for images and stories. And that's where FILMFEST MÜNCHEN comes in. But how to reach them in the digital age? "The trick is to offer a unique experience you can't get online together with our terrific partners: Namely, the live experience, meeting the stars and other fans, being there for the premiere when a film is shown for the very first time to an audience – that's what FILMFEST MÜNCHEN can offer with the Teen Event, which we hope to turn into a regular institution. We're very happy to have Constantin Film on board with a sneak peek at hit "Windstorm and the Wild Horses" and the world premiere of "Tiger Milk"," says Festival director Diana Iljine.
A long summer, two girlfriends, first sex, romance and knee socks, a crime and a wild drink: "Tiger Milk" is the adapation of the Berlin bestseller by Stefanie de Velasco. The lead actresses Flora Li Thiemann ("Happiness", "Nelly's Adventure") and Emily Kusche, and their young actor colleagues David Ali Rashed and Emil Belton will attend, along with writer-director Ute Wieland ("Cheeky Girls" 1+2, "FC Venus"), producer Susanne Freyer, and writer Stefanie de Velasco. An intense coming-of-age story that pushes the envelope, a happy-go-lucky buddy movie amid the parties and squalor of Berlin.
Mika heads into a new life as well: In the long-awaited third part of trilogy "Windstorm", she heads to Andalusia with her eponymous horse in search of her mission in life. The successful Windstorm series resonates deeply with young women thanks to its intense and sensitive portrayal of human-animal relationships. Director Katja von Garnier takes Mika and Windstorm seriously, and tells a gripping story about a movingt friendship – starring a terrific young Hanna Binke.
Nini und Jameelah, Mika and Windstorm: Young girls and their unbridled thirst for life are at the focus of this year's Teen Event at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN. Catch a sneak preview of the unfinished, eagerly awaited part 3 of the "Windstorm" trilogy before the world premiere of "Tiger Milk" in the Mathäser Theater. "Tiger Milk" will be released theatrically in Germany Aug. 17 (distribution: Constantin Film).
