Numerous partners contribute to brining FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 2017 to our guests and film fans from around the world, along with our shareholders. "Only thanks to our partners can we put on an attractive festival with top-notch films, guests and events. I'm especially proud of the partners who have remained faithful to us for many years or even decades. And I hope our cooperation with our new partners who just joined us will be just as long and fruitful," said festival head Diana Iljine.
This is the sixth year Hofbräu München has been backing FILMFEST MÜNCHEN. Hofbräu München has also been a sponsor of FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH for many years. The world-famous brewery stands for the Munich lifestyle all around the world, and also at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN. At the Open Air screenings in beer garden atmosphere at the Gasteig festival center, at the festival theaters and at the festival closing party, Hofbräu beer is on tap, just as at the typical Bavarian sausage breakfast in the Hofbräukeller beer garden and on the Isar river rafting trip: Hofbräu beer from a wood keg enjoys cult status among our international guests.
For the fourth time, Adam Opel GmbH is on board as the festival's exclusive mobility partner. Durning the festival, Opel will make sure the stars arrive in style in the new Insignia Grand Sport VIP shuttles. Opel will also present the European premiere of "Berlin Falling", the first feature film directed by Opel campaign spokesman Ken Duken. The internationally known German A-listers in the cast include Duken ("Inglourious Basterds") as well as Tom Wlaschiha ("Game of Thrones"). Opel provided vehicles for the German production and will transport the stars to the festival center for the premiere in style.

We are proud to welcome our new sponsor this year, Zee.One. Zee.One is an entertainment network airing top-notch Bollywood films, many of which have never been shown in Germany before. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is their corporate spokesma. Their motto is I FEEL BOLLY GOOD. At FILMFEST MÜNCHEN, Zee.One will present a special sidebar of four world-class films, and a Bolly.Yoga session for free with top yoga guru Patrick Broome on June 25 at 11 a.m. on the lawn outside Munich film school HFF.
The most important prizes awarded at the Munich festival with attractive purses are sponsored by ARRI and Osram (the ARRI/Osram Award for the best international film), and, new this year, the Motion Picture Licensing Company MPLC (CineVision Award for best international newcomer film), Bavaria Film, BR and DZ Bank (German Cinema New Talent Award), VFF rights society (Bernd Burgemeister TV Prize), Tellux film production (Fritz Gerlich Prize). The FIPRESCI Prize, awarded by the international film critics' assoc., goes to a film from the New German Cinema sidebar.
Tech partners ARRI Rental, ARRI Media, zweiB and Rohde&Schwarz DVS help keep the Filmfest on the cutting edge of technology. Thanks to their support, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN was the first major festival in Germany to screen all its films on DCP (Digital Cinema Package). 19-time Oscar winner ARRI also provides the right lighting to make the stars look fabulous on the Red Carpet.
