FILMFEST MÜNCHEN POP-UP to start off with two world premieres

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN POP-UP will kick off its summer festival with two exclusive world premieres featuring celebrity guests.

On Wednesday, July 15, “In Berlin wächst kein Orangenbaum”, the first film directed exclusively by Kida Khodr Ramadan, will celebrate its world premiere at the PopUp Autokino München drive-in theater. Ramadan himself assumes the leading role in this unique cross between a gangster film and a family drama with an uncompromising sense of urban Berlin. Naturally, the famous actor (“4 Blocks”) will be attending the premiere in person, as will rising star Emma Drogunova and other crew members.

This extraordinary premiere also marks the start of the FILMFEST MÜNCHEN POP-UP series, which will rekindle the festival spirit in Munich’s urban space with a total of eight screenings in the summer months of 2020.

The second film highlight in the Pop-Up series also promises to be entertaining: “Faking Bullshit” by director and Heute-Show ensemble member Alexander Schubert will be screened at PopUp Autokino on Thursday, July 23. The outstanding cast of this small-town crime comedy, which includes Erkan Acar, Sina Tkotsch, Adrian Topol, Sanne Schnapp, and several others, will join the audience on the premises to celebrate the world premiere.

Events start at 9:30 p.m. (with admission from 8:30 p.m.)

Location: PopUp Autokino München, Zenith parking lot, Lilienthalallee 29, 80939 München

Tickets are available directly from the website of PopUp Autokino München. By the way: you can now enjoy movies at the pop-up drive-in theater not only from a car, but also from comfortable deck chairs.
