Logline

Men talk about the fantasies of other men in this painful, enlightening, and important documentary.

Director Jonas Rothlaender confronts various men with anonymous statements by other men about their sexual experiences and about gender roles. At first, the very different protagonists read the testimonials and assess them. Then they begin to think more and more openly about their own sexuality and talk about their experiences: of domination and violence, of disappointments and moments of happiness. They talk about the prejudices that men face; their expectations of themselves, of women, and of their sexual partners; and how the interplay of the sexes functions from their point of view. Rothlaender's documentary is a reflection on male sexuality, its power structures, and masculine stereotypes in the present day.
