A grand thriller, made in Germany for a global audience: a gripping and literally breathless race against time.
It's the perfect day for a dive: clear visibility, calm weather, and a secluded bay. As Drew and May, sisters and experienced divers, marvel at the underwater environment, May is suddenly swept into the depths and trapped beneath boulders. Drew desperately tries to find help, but must ultimately decide whether to risk her own life to save that of her sister. Time is running out.

Meet the director
Maximilian Erlenwein
Maximilian Erlenwein, born in 1975, studied sociology and journalism in Marburg. While studying directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb), he worked as a cinematographer and shot reports and magazine segments. Together with Robin von Hardenberg, he founded Fat Lady Filmproduktion in 2005, for which he makes music videos, documentaries, image films, and commercials. His debut feature film, SCHWERKRAFT (2009), received the First Steps Award and the Max-Ophüls-Preis. STEREO, a psychological thriller, premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale in 2014.
