Lucy Cohen’s motion-picture debut is a visually expressive coming-of-age movie featuring two outstanding young actors.
Eleven-year-old Evie arrives in a picturesque town on England’s southern coast to spend her vacation. But right away, her mood is dampened by the presence of a family friend named Tony, who seems closer to her mother than Evie would like. She soon finds a companion in Adam, who is her own age. Together they explore an abandoned tin mine on the outskirts of town. The darkness in this deserted place brings serious issues to light, and the children begin to question what the adults have been telling them. Childhood as they both know it seems to be reaching its end.
