As the youngest of five sisters, Samira El Mouzghibati explores a painful aspect of their past. She travels to the Rif Mountains in Morocco, where their parents come from, and films that which she feels estranged from. Unspoken secrets regarding a tragic incident come to light. At the center of it all is her mother, who tells her story for the first time.

Meet the director
Samira El Mouzghibati
Samira El Mouzghibati was born in Belgium to Moroccan parents. She studied film editing and screenwriting at the Institut Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle in Brussels. After working with several directors on a wide variety of projects, she made her first documentary film, (Y)OUR MOTHER.
