My favorite: Filmfest premium

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN now offers a premium area in which all film fans and industry representatives can create their own personal festival calendar.

My favorite: Filmfest premium

The Filmfest team is proud to present the new, free premium area of our website. This is where you can create your personal festival planner and then export it to your own calendar.

Log In1

Where can you find the premium area? It’s very simple: in the top right-hand corner of the website header, you’ll see a small log-in icon that looks like a game character. Voilà! Before you can log in, you’ll need to register. Simply go to “Register now”, enter your e-mail address, and choose a password (at least 8 characters in length, including a special character). Then confirm the password. Be sure to check the box and agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. When you click on “Register”, an e-mail will be sent to the address you’ve entered. Just click on the confirmation link in the e-mail and you’ll be able to log in and get started. The log-in icon tells you whether you’re logged in. If it’s filled in in gold, then you’re logged in and are ready to go.

If you’re browsing the Filmfest program and decide that you like a film, clicking on the little flag will make a note of it. If you already know which screening you want to go to, you can also bookmark the corresponding screening directly. You can do this either on the overview page by clicking on “See more dates”, or directly on the page displaying the film details, where you’ll also find the credits, film length, and plot summary. Under the film images you’ll also find the individual screenings, which you can use the flag to select. The same procedure holds for any supporting events, panel discussions, or Filmmakers Live! talks that pique your interest.

Go to "My Favorites" and find your personal festival calender.

To check whether any events in your schedule are overlapping, click on the log-in icon and select “My favorites”. In the timetable that is shown there, all the events and screenings you’ve selected will be displayed. This way, you’ll have a complete overview of the entire festival period and can immediately see if there are any overlapping events. You can also expand and collapse days (using the “open” and “close” commands at the right margin) to simplify the overview. Don’t worry: you can’t miss anything, because even when the days are collapsed, the number of marked events is still shown in parentheses.

You can of course export this calendar to your private calendar, so that you’ll be able to see all your events at a glance. The “Subscribe to my favorites” button is there for this purpose. This will send you an iCal feed that you can upload to your calendars. The feed updates automatically if there are changes to the events.

Under “My account” you can also change your password or log out.

Premium area for badge-holders

In addition to the festival planner, the new premium area for badge-holders also includes the networking area that was previously accessible via the Filmfest app. All you need for this is your username and the access code that will, as usual, be sent to you by e-mail shortly before the festival begins. After registering at the log-in prompt (see above), you’ll only have to activate the premium area for badge-holders once under “My profile”. Simply enter your username and access code and click on “Confirm”, and “Who is here” and “Rights & Sales” will appear in addition to the “My favorites” and “My account” tabs under “Account”. In the “Who is here” section, you’ll find the contact details of industry and media representatives who are attending the festival, while in the “Rights & Sales” section you can find out which films have not yet found a German distributor.
