Woman Driving, Man Sleeping
Sue, a dentist, and Anton, a philosphy professor lead seemingly intact lives juggling careers and raising four children. But Anton’s current mistress is pregnant and now Sue has fallen in love with another man. When their 18-year-old son becomes critically ill, they both realize they have been living with lies for far too long. This film is the second part of a trilogy Thoma calls ‘Time Travel’ but which obviously has nothing at all to do with science fiction. Thome is interested in time as the central philosophical element.
