Maria and her husband move in with her father after he suffers an debilitating aneurism. When her father’s intensive demands conflict with her husband’s expectations, the situation becomes too much for Maria to handle. Her husband’s insensitivity and lack of support soon turns abusive. To further complicate matters, Maria starts getting anonymous phone calls and she begins to become alienated from her family and their system of values.
