The Waiting Room
Ahmet is going through a crisis. He thinks of himself as an arrogant, unfaithful man even if his image is that of an idealist. He’s a film director who wants to make an adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s classic novel ‘Crime and Punishment’. He has lost all interest in his film project and in his girlfriend Serap. He feels alienated from his own life and stays at home all day long. Serap thinks Ahmet’s strange behavior is due to another woman. One night, after submitting to a long series of questions, Ahmet lies and tells her that he is having an affair with another woman. Serap leaves. Meanwhile, Ahmet’s assistant Elif is busy with the pre-production of the film, trying to cast the leading role. Ahmet, however, doesn’t like any of the actors that have auditioned and decides to give a role to the young thief he had caught trying to break into his house but let go without handing him over to the police. But he has no idea where to find the young man...
