Turtles can Fly
First lightning comes, then thunder. Iraq near the Turkish border, shortly before the American invasion. Many of the children in a Kurdish refugee camp earn a living by digging out land mines. The refugees have great faith in a 13-year-old orphan known simply as 'Satellite' because he always seems to know the latest news from US broadcasters. He stays on the move so as not to feel his pain. But then 14-year-old Agrin arrives at the camp with her child and the more Satellite opens up to this pretty girl, the more she desperately buries herself in a terrible secret. The next wave of war sweeps through the valley before time has had the chance to heal old wounds. After the thunder comes the downpour.
