Filmfest 2007

FROWNLAND is a seams-exposed comedy – a melee of a movie, really – about a door-to-door coupon salesman who eats popcorn & eggs off the folded-out door of his kitchen oven. – Ronald Bronstein: "I initiated this project in 2002 intent on celebrating a particular kind of underground sensibility that I felt had gone woefully AWOL in contemporary cinema. The idealist (read: brat) in me saw it as the raising of a defiant flag of sorts. A glimpse into the messy suburban basement where I envisioned all of the independent mavericks that I loved sweating over heaping piles of 16mm film scraps; all of them tapped into the same reckless, free-wheeling, autocratic vein." – Special Jury Prize at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival, Austin,Texas.
