The Reproduction Crisis
Filmfest 2008

A writer interviews people about their desire to have children while a stage director rehearses her documentary material with six actors on the stage of the Hamburg Thalia theatre so it can be brought to life in a production. But just how much authenticity can the theatre take? THE REPRODUCTION CRISIS brings stagecraft and real people together in a fictional dialogue. Life on the stage is contrasted with authentic stories. The film deals with the documentary within the theatrical and the theatrical within the documentary. THE REPRODUCTION CRISIS takes a look at the difficulties of reproduction - both in real life and on the stage.
