Half Way to Heaven
Filmfest 2009

In the middle of the Guatamalan jungle, former refugees built a peaceful village from scratch, calling it "Aurora" – a dawn of hope. A year later, on October 5, 1995, their dreams were shattered when a military patrol left over 20 wounded and eleven dead. Never forgetting what they achieved, villagers collected evidence. Their struggle for justice not only brought the community and to its limits, it also lead to the first trial against the military before a civil court in Latin-America. pop tutu film
