My Queen Karo
Filmfest 2010

Ten-year-old Karo grows up with her hippy parents in an Amsterdam commune in the Seventies. As an only child, she leads a carefree existence in this utopia-for-adults. The house rules say that everything is to be shared, but, after a while, not everyone is able to honor those love & peace ideals. As her parents' relationship slowly disintegrates, Karo is torn between her love for her mother and loyalty towards her father and his ideals. She slowy realizes that adults don't always have an answer for everything and that nothing can stay the same forever… Production Notes
