We’re The New People
Filmfest 2014

Who says you're old at sixty? Certainly not Anne, Eddi and Johannes. They're around sixty, can't afford much and are sharing an apartment again, like they did as students. Everything is like it used to be: sitting around the kitchen table drinking wine, philosophizing about God and the world, and listening to the hits of their time until the early hours of the morning. The only problem is they didn't reckon with the other tenants in the house: three real students live above the gang of three. And they have no sense of fun. They are cramming for exams and the last thing they need is fun-loving, loud sixty-year-olds who don't stick to the rules. It doesn't take long before the two generations clash. But what exactly is going wrong here? Have the seniors not understood the signs of the times? Or are the young men even older?
