"I was in the middle of writing the script for my first feature film. Writing is painful and boring. I wanted to be directing! So I took this little job to make three short films which I thought no one would ever see… MY SECRET MOMENTS was the first thing my longtime co-author Jim Taylor and I ever wrote together. In 1989 I needed a roommate. I put the word through my friends that I needed a roommate and Jim, whom I had met a few times, needed a roommate, too. So he moved in with me and then we lived together for two or three years. Our collaboration grew into a friendship."
