The remains of a man who disappeared during the years of political violence in Peru have been exhumed but nobody claims them. Now the only clue to identify him is the picture of a smiling girl found in his shirt. Only a blurred photograph – a snapshot of a moment in time and a memory…
"The image of a blurred picture and the idea of its 'stubbornly refusing' to disappear grew in my mind, especially if you take into account that the relatives of the 'disappeared' always hold a picture of the ones missing, as if reaffirming their existence, refusing to believe they may fall into oblivion. What I'm after is to focus on people. I want this story to be an elegy, a film about mourning and personal suffering, not only that of the wife of a missing person who never ceases to ask questions, but also that of all the people involved."
