Alma works in her family’s olive grove, in the sunny province of Castellon on the east coast of Spain. She is close to her grandfather, who hasn’t spoken since the family’s 2000-year-old olive tree was sold to Germany. When her grandfather stops eating and becomes weaker, Alma decides to go get the tree back, along with her admirer Rafa and her uncle Alcachofa. Their tree has found its new place in the courtyard of a Düsseldorf utility company as a symbol of sustainability. A feel-good road movie by Goya award winner Icíar Bollaín, based on a script by Ken Loach regular Paul Laverty.
