Anja Altmann disappears two days after her birthday party and a big fight with her husband Thomas. When the police ring Thomas‘ doorbell, family attorney and friend Lavinia Bertok manage to dispel any suspicions. But soon Thomas is arrested all the same. While the rest of the Altmann family start hurling accusations and recriminations at each other, Anja allegedly surfaces in Spain, raising a strange suspicion against Lavinia.

Thomas Stuber was born in Leipzig, former East Germany, in 1981. Before enrolling in the directing dept. of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2004, he worked in the film industry as intern and continuity assistant. His 60-minute student film TEENAGE ANGST screened at the 2008 Berlinale in the Perspective German Cinema sidebar. His graduating film VON HUNDEN UND PFERDEN (2011) won the German Short Film Prize and the Student Oscar in Silver. His first dramatic feature HERBERT about an ex-boxer who falls ill was released theatrically 2016.
