Franz Hofstetter is dead, and with him the last of the great patriarchs of the brewing industry is gone. Two women are competing to take over as head of the brewery. One is Franz's second wife, Gisela, whose heart beats for the traditional art of brewing as well as for a Czech gigolo. The other is Vicky, Franz's daughter from his first marriage, who returns from abroad with a basketball star and lots of ideas, such as vegan Weisswurst, that seem outlandish in small-town Bavaria. FILMFEST MÜNCHEN will show both parts of this two-part TV movie back-to-back in a three-hour presentation.

biography
Christiane Balthasar was born in Hoya an der Weser in 1970. She worked as an architectural draftsperson and lighting designer before studying film direction at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg from 1993 to 1998. Since 1999, she has directed television movies. She has directed episodes of the series TATORT and POLIZEIRUF 110 and was significantly involved in the series KOMMISSARIN HELLER, of which she presented the episode TOD AM WEIHER at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN in 2013.
