Jan Krueger

Jan Krüger studied film production at the HFF Potsdam. His graduation film LEROY won the German Film Award for "Best Film for Children and Young People" in 2008. Since 2010, Jan Krüger has been a partner at Port au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion in Berlin. The "Port" produces both fictional and non-fictional feature films as well as series for the national and international market. He supports strong, artistic voices according to the attitude: never accept the horizon.

Among others, Jan produced several films by Edward Berger, e.g. JACK, which screened in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015 and won the German Film Award. In 2019, the German-French-Greek miniseries EDEN followed, directed by Dominik Moll, which was broadcast on ARTE and ARD and won the Grimme Prize in 2020. Currently, Jan produces the docu-series CAPITAL B by Florian Opitz. In 2012, he founded the independent distribution company Port au Prince Pictures together with his partners at Port au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion. The company's portfolio includes Theresa von Eltz's 4 KÖNIGE (German Film Award 2016), Tarik Saleh's Sundance winner THE NILE HILTON AFFAIR and the Port au Prince productions ICEMAN and SYSTEM ERROR. In 2019, Port au Prince Pictures distributed Talal Derki's Oscar-nominated documentary OF FATHERS AND SONS and Nora Fingscheidt's arthouse hit SYSTEM CRASHER, which won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Jan Krüger is a member of the German and European Film Academies, the Producer's Network, the European Producer's Club (EPC) and the Atelier Cinema d'Europe (ACE 22).
