1992: Brothers Eli and Daniel sell shoes in South Central L.A., enduring the daily disses for their Asian looks. They hang out with 11-year-old orphan Camille and dream of making the big time – and the Angelenos are wont to do. But then the riots break out. As the inferno approaches their shoe store, they have to come to terms with the reality around them.

Justin Chon
Justin Chon was born in Garden Grove, CA in 1981, and worked mainly as an actor so far. He was Eric Yorkie in the TWILIGHT films (2008-2012) before starting to direct short films. MAN UP was his feature film debut 2015. GOOK won the Sundance audience award "Best of Next!" 2017.
