Laura and her children travel from Buenos Aires to the village where she was born, on a Spanish vineyard, to attend her sister’s wedding - but unexpected events lead this gathering towards a crisis which exposes the hidden past of the family.
Meet the director
Asghar Farhadi
Asghar Farhadi was born in Iran in 1972. He followed up his bachelor's degree in theater from the University of Tehran with a master's degree in stage direction from Tarbiat Modarres University. DANCING IN THE DUST (2003) was his first film. His fourth, ABOUT ELLY, received a Silver Bear at the Berlinale in 2009, while his fifth, A SEPARATION (2011) received a Golden Bear and an Academy Award for best foreign-language film. In 2017, he received a second Oscar for his film THE SALESMAN.
