MEMORY - THE ORIGINS OF ALIEN
In 2019, Ridley Scott’s ALIEN celebrates the 40th Anniversary of its theatrical release. Alexandre O. Philippes documentary reveals the chilling, untold origins of Ridley Scott’s cinematic masterpiece. ALIEN is rooted in Greek and Egyptian mythology, underground comics, parasitology, H.P. Lovecraft’s weird fiction, the art of Francis Bacon, and the symbiotic genius of writer Dan O’Bannon, designer H.R. Giger, and, of course, director Ridley Scott. Uncovering a treasure trove of unreleased materials from the O’Bannon and Giger estates, Philippe’s film delivers an entrancingly cinematic take on one of Hollywood’s most beloved and iconic shockers.
