AWARD CEREMONY: GERMAN CINEMA NEW TALENT AWARD

The German Cinema New Talent Award, worth a total of 70,000 euros, is presented by the three sponsors DZ Bank, Bavaria Film, and Bayerischer Rundfunk to the best up-and-coming young filmmakers in the New German Cinema section. All up-and-coming directors, producers, screenwriters, and actors whose motion pictures were screened in the section are automatically eligible, provided it is their first, second, or third theatrical film (or sixth in the case of producers). A three-member jury chooses the winners. This year’s jury is comprised of the artistic director of the Münchner Kammerspiele, Barbara Mundel; actress Sophie von Kessel, and actor Komi Togbonou.
