A film that in magnetic, melancholy, and joyful ways captures the inimitable spirit of the 1980s.
In the early 1980s, France is gripped by a spirit of optimism that is also expressed in its music. Charismatic Jerôme, his introverted brother Philippe, and their friends operate a pirate radio station from an attic in their sleepy little town. Both brothers are in love with Marianne, who has just moved back from Paris. A tour of compulsory military service brings Philippe to West Berlin, where his acquaintance with Dany, a flashy male DJ at a military radio station, changes his life. When Philippe returns home, he realizes that a lot has changed there as well, and finds himself torn.
