Director Sanna Lenken treats her young protagonists with sensitivity, demonstrating how important humor is in dealing with grief and the loss of a loved one.

For Sasha, shedding tears is not an option. She’s angry! Angry at her mother, who took her own life. In order to survive and not end up like her mom, the 13-year-old has made a list of steps she needs to take. First: cut off her long hair so she won’t look like her mom anymore. Second: don’t read any more books, because they didn’t make her mother happy. Third: never take care of another living thing, because that’s exactly what her mother wasn’t able to do, as Sasha herself experienced. And fourth: become a comedy queen. Because how else is Sasha supposed to make her father laugh again?

This film is screened in original version with German voice-over.

Age 12 rating, recommended for ages 9 and up.
