This documentary about the first all-female metal band from the Middle East skillfully tells a universal coming-of-age story.
Slave to Sirens is a thrash metal band from the outskirts of Beirut. The five young women Lilas, Shery, Maya, Alma, and Tatyana have big dreams, but their home country doesn’t offer them many opportunities. A performance at a British music festival fails to lead to a longed-for breakthrough, and to make matters worse, Lilas and Shery have a falling-out. Will the band be able to get back together?
