An emotional endurance test for a friendship between women.
Since childhood, Jojo and Paula have been inseparable. The two best friends enjoy their lives as single women in Berlin. But when Jojo falls in love with a young man from her hometown, Paula’s life falls apart. She now does everything she can to stop Jojo from making what she thinks is the biggest mistake of her life: getting married.
Meet the director
Barbara Ott
Barbara Ott was born on the border to the Czech Republic in 1983. She studied feature-film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her graduation film, SUNNY (2013), was screened at national and international festivals and received numerous awards, including the Deutscher Kurzfilmpreis in Gold, the First Steps Award, the Studio Hamburg Nachwuchspreis, and the Deutscher Kamerapreis. Her debut film, KIDS RUN (2020), opened the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section at the 70th Berlinale.
