Logline

A dreamy and poetic directorial debut that is part coming of age, part love story, and part ghost story

Bastien and Chloé meet during a summer vacation spent with their families on a lake in rural Quebec. Although she’s older than him, the two spend a lot of time together and develop a singular bond. For Bastien, though, there’s more at stake: in order to win Chloé’s heart, he must overcome his worst fears. Based on the graphic novel “Une sœur” by Bastien Vivès, Charlotte Le Bon’s directorial debut tells of a pivotal moment in the life of a young boy.

FALCON LAKE

Charlotte le Bon

Charlotte Le Bon grew up in Québec before moving to Paris. As an actress, she worked with French directors such as Michel Gondry and Jalil Lespert. In the United States, she shot films with Lasse Hallström, Robert Zemeckis, and Sean Ellis. Her passion for genre films led her to direct and write the short film JUDITH HOTEL, which was screened at Cannes in 2018. FALCON LAKE (2022) is her first feature-length film. Le Bon is also an artist who explores her penchant for strangeness in her paintings, drawings, and lithographs.
